I"m hoping to hit the trail head about 5:30 Friday. Of course, work and traffic will play a big part!

There are water tanks at each of the camp sites. I'll call the forest office tomorrow (just called now but no one picked up) to find out if there are any known issues. But I would not worry there should be water. Be careful hiking in the dark there but that could be a lot of fun!

I'll probably try to get to the trailhead about 5:30 myself after I get off work.

I called the main number yesterday as well, no answer, and I left a message. I also emailed Ohio dnr about the water. If I hear back I will let you know. The website for Zaleski says that water may be limited in winter depending on road access, if they deliver water on Thursdays we should be good. I will be getting to camp C around 1or 2pm, I will try to get a good site for us and have a fire waiting for you all.

I just got off the phone with Zaleski park office, there will be water, they said they will fill up the sites probably on Thursday because of the snow coming in on Friday.

Speaking of snow, current forecast Fri is showing 3-5 in during the day and 1-3in at night. With 10 to 15 mph wind. So dress appropriately. Friday is high of 33, low of 25. Saturday is high of 31 with low of 10.

Thanks for the update, JC. This is going to be my coldest trip yet, so it should be, at the very least, informative! Looking forward to this weekend!

That sounds like a lovely mess for the hike in, no matter, C camp is not that far from the trail head. Kinda wish for colder temps so the trail would be in better shape.

Not to worry about water, ive never had a time when there wasn't water.

I'll probably roll in kinda late day, hopefully before dark.

Excited to test gear and get into the woods. Planning meals today and wrapping up my gear list.

This will also be my coldest trip and first in snow. I'm excited and anxious! I have a 20 degree quilt set from hammock gear, plus layers so I figure I'll be OK.

I'm looking forward to this trip. When you get to camp C look for my ORANGE ENO HouseFly

Also I found this in the brochure: "No person is permitted to camp more than 14 days in any 30 day-period. Camps must be moved to another backpack campground each day." Not sure if they enforce this too much in winter or not.

Hi fellas. I have been sick for the past week, getting better, but still not that great. Hopefully will feel better time Friday comes around. Now let's get to the fun stuff. Snow? Cold? Spending time in the woods with a great group of guys? I can't think of a better time! love winter hangin. I will be arriving a little later than you Johnnycat, so I'll be looking for the orange beast. Cheers guys
