Slugbait is correct. There is no need to have a Pulk sled.
I like to bring one as I bring a lot more stuff on the hang than I normally do. Lots of it won't fit in my pack. It's nice to have to haul the Dutch oven, wood, lantern etc..
But like Slugbait said.. it is not a long hike in and multiple trips to the cars are not uncommon (even for folks with Pulk sleds).
Like most of us hammock campers, we like to dabble in DIY projects and tweek gear.. The pulk is an extension of that need to play with gear.

Last year we had some good Dutch Oven cooking and plenty of good sharing food.
Here what I propose for this years Pot Luck...
Reply to this post whether you are bringing a Main Dish, a Side Dish, or a Dessert.
Then we will all be pleasantly surprised on Saturday evening at the Pot Luck.
    I'll start.
I am bringing a Main Dish.. cooked in the Dutch Oven.

I am bringing a side dish snack - prepared in Rhododendron.

Hello! I am new to this forum, from Portland. My name is Joseph!

Is there still time to join in? I am new to hammock camping. Is there a carpool or similar set up? I am in Portland and haven't met many hangers here just yet; I do look forward to meeting more though! Put me down for bringing in a desert piece.

There is time to join up until the weekend is over. This trip is quite informal and we do not require that some one is "pre-registered" in order to join in.

Nothing official but there are plenty of people from the Portland area that might be able to give you a lift.

Two of the three (almost typed tree there, freudian slip there) confirmed off. Getting stoked for a real Winter Hang. Will respond later with communal dinner meal. May if funds allow go big this year, plan on grill and fire space for me this year you gourmets.

We will be camping in the upper right area of the camp ground.
Be prepared for anything. Weather can be funny up there.
