Argon 90 question for a TQ

Preparing to do my first top quilt with Argon 90 and wanted to ask questions of those who have used it.

Dutch lists the width as 58" from selvage to selvage with 57" usable. My fabric measure real close to that. I was going to have final dimensions at 55". Can I just keep the selvage and go with an 1.5" seam allowances on the sides to minimize cutting or should I trim .5" from each side and lose the selvage?

Second, for those that use Argon a lot to you heat the edges to prevent fraying? I didn't for an SPE I did, but it didn't seem I really needed to. The edges of the selvage look more frayed than the ends.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brent

Argon 90 question for a TQ

I've been using the argon 90 and if you have a seam allowance and sewing inside the selvage you don't need to trim. It's a great fabric for not fraying as well.

I don't trim selvage. The pin wheels are so close to the edge that they are always on the seam or hem.

I have never trimmed the selvage edge either. I just roll it in and sew. No one has ever noticed and I don't think it affects the finished project.
