When being one with nature, some people feel it is best not to take away or distract from the natural surroundings by adding some bright colors. Camo is great as one as you don't forget where you set it up... they can be hard to find once you walk away.
That orange and camo looks pretty cool.
===> I use different set-ups for different hangs. I have several hammocks and tarps in both Camo patterns and solids. I *do* stealth camp at times, where I absolutely don't want to be seen/discovered (hike-in Fly fishing trips). I use a Dakota Fire Pit for a campfire, and maintain pretty strict sound discipline as well. (Hangover from my days as a Recon Rat in 'Nam.) I will augment my camouflage rigs with natural materials to break-up lines and contours.
All that said, when I take my daughter out to group hangs, I just grab stuff - camouflage or not - to toss in the SUV. It is about socialization those times, and blending in is not an issue. But for those outings that I DO want to disappear, I have gear choices to fit most environments. I just don't camo-out to be "Tacti-cool"!

That camo and burnt orange double looks great! Kind of has a retro feel, like an old hunting jacket .
I prefer bright to camo as at times I can backpack in areas that are legal hunting grounds.
I like the inside to be brighter so I can see the ticks and other creepy crawly creatures so I can chase them out before crawling in. Tarp though I will do something that blends in better, once you are in the tarp who cares if the gear inside is brighter.
Yep, love the Multicam/Burnt Orange combo.
My Eno DN is Royal Blue and Brown. Eno SN is Red and Grey. Yukon Outfitters Double is Olive Green and Brown. And my Castaway is Royal Blue and Yellow.
I've seen a new company on Facebook called Moonbeam Hammocks. I believe they just finished a Kickstarter campaign. Their hammocks are hand dyed with 2, 3, or 4 color blends. It really makes a beautiful, unique hammock where no 2 are exactly alike.
My ENO was part of the Onelink system and a gift, so I was stuck with blue and green with a blue tarp. I'm fine with it. My clothes are always earth toned anyway because I'm a pretty low-key person. That being said, my tents were always orange, my backpack is red, and I add bright tape or larnyards to everyday tools so they don't get left behind. I've heard the LNT doctrine regarding color, but it seems to be far too social and spiritual for a doctrine meant to be about nature. Why do I keep my main gear bright?
1. If I'm injured or knocked out, I want to be visible.
2. If people want a solitary hike, they can see me and avoid me instead of suddenly running into me.
3. From a utility standpoint, nothing gets lost.
4. I'd rather appear to be an outdoors enthusiast instead of some one guarding a meth lab or compound.
If asked by a new hiker what colors they should buy and wear? "Hike your own hike." I'll be off in my Technicolor Dream Coat hiking my hike.
