I do have a very slight preference and I lean slightly in favor of the argon.
Both are wonderful fabrics and I've been fortunate enough to use both in separate synthetic quilt builds. Feel wise both are very soft and feel great next to the skin. I actually give a little bit of the edge here to membrane. Hard to compare and you wouldn't be disappointed feel wise with either.
Since these are both super ultralight fabrics, I would assume (no actual proof of this) that comes with a little need for delicacy. Both were fine when working with them and differences weren't overly noticable. However, the argon does have an embedded ripstop grid, where this is absent from membrane. As I said, i didn't have issues with either fabric and the quilt owners have enjoyed them and haven't reported any issues. For whatever reason I think the ripstop grid of the argon makes it "seem" like and more durable fabric and gives me a little more confidence when using it.
I haven't used them in a down quilt build, so can't comment on this aspect of them.
In reality I don't think you could go wrong with either and i only lean in bias of the argon due to a "believed" durability benefit.
Curious to see what others have to say as well.
Membrane because olive yellow.
My uq is black membrane on the inner and embossed argon on the outer.
Feeling both side by side I can't decide which I like better. Overall the feel of both fabrics is very similar. I should note that I made my first TQ with Argon 67 black and grey, both taffeta (it was some of the first Argon from before Dutch had a ripstop added.)
Membrane 10 looks more shiny than Argon 67. I could say that the Membrane 10 has a slightly more plastic feel but at the same time a less clammy feel than I can get with the Argon 67. Both those observations are subjective, I want to emphasize that both fabrics are very similar in feel.
I can vouch for the DWR of the Argon 67 and Argon 90. Both are quite excellent. I cannot say anything about the performance of the Membrane 10 because I have no experience with it in multi day/week backpacking situations. However, that is not to say that the Membrane 10 is not also excellent, I just have not field tested any quilts made with this material. The Membrane 10 seems top notch and I have no doubts that it will perform accordingly. First impressions are that the Membrane 10 is more downproof than the Argon 67.
Things to consider: Dutch offers taffeta Argon 67 in black only, so if an inner shell without a ripstop grid is desired, there are more color options with Membrane 10. The converse of that is that all Membrane 10 is taffeta, so if an outer shell WITH a ripstiop grid is desired, Membrane 10 does not fit the bill.
I think that you will be happy with either fabric.
Cheers

Thanks folks! Sounds like they are very similar in quality and workability.
