Finding a place to hang can be challenging on the Whanganui, but here's what my wife Linda came up with at the Whakahoro campsite.
There were many tents, but only a pair of hammocks. Fortunate, as we could only find one place to hang at each site. Here's our setup at the John Coull campsite. The ground on my (the left) side fell away pretty quickly.

And here's the one spot we could find at Tieke Kainga campsite. There was quite a canopy of tree branches and ferns keeping it dark.
