Dynaglide versus Zingit... For CRL

My cordage expertise is anemic at best and though I've searched the archives, I can't find the pros and cons of each type of cordage and their recommended uses.

Looking at Dutch's website isn't helping here either...

What are the benefits and drawbacks of these two types of line from a general point of view, as well as specifically for use as a CRL? Strength? Stretch? Splice-ability (is that a word?), etc

Is there an FAQ or write up here?

They're both Dyneema - Dynaglide is 1,000 lbs. breaking strength while Zing-It 1.75 is 400 lb. and Zing-It 2.2 is 580 lbs. breaking strength. I personally use Zing-It 1.75 mm for CRLs - I really don't need the additional strength of the other two. I also find Dynaglide to be a bit more ticky-tacky and picks up junk (very minor), while I never have that problem with Zing-It.

Dynaglide doesnt behave as well as zing-it. Stiffer, splices as easily though. Hates holding knots

2.2mm with a working rating of 600 pounds or 1.75mm with a working rating of 400 pounds.

Where are you guys quoting these numbers from?


FYI Official Sampson specs are:
2.2mm > 650lb avg breaking strength (no MBS listed)
1.75mm > 500lb avg breaking strength (no MBS listed)

That write-up is solid info. One correction: Dynaglide is 12 strand, not 10. (There's also a minor typo with "beat" instead of "beast" in the next paragraph. Just thought you might want fix that at the same time.)
