    PNW?

Is there a group for the PNW?

Let me explain. My mother wishes to hike, and adventure with local folks. I've looked on the forum titles, but there is no PNW thread. There is just "southwest", and then "West" . Is that where I begin, or is there another thread I'm missing?

Where is she located? Maybe look into Meetup.com. They have hiking groups split by skill, age and women-specific. Many of the groups aren't as active right now since those meetups are predominantly fair-weather Summer folk.

Then there's always the Mountaineers for us in the Puget Sound. Right now the Mountaineers and REI have snowshoeing and XC-skiing every weekend.

Mountaineers aren't just crevasse jumpers, but they have lots of hiking activities too, e.g., https://www.mountaineers.org/explore...untain-1-2-3-2

Or just a walk about UWs Arboretum.

Just a thought, but perhaps she could pick a hike she's interested in, pick a time, post it and see if others are interested as well.
