Keeping the doors of the Warbonnet Super fly open

    That should be pretty easy.

NABD but I don't like to larkshead shockcord. It has some stiffness and spring and I've found it can pop loose off a D-ring or tieout. I like to tie it in a knot through the D-ring using a figure-8 or maybe a double-fishermans knot.

Good point - I had that concern lingering in my head

I have not setup my superfly yet, but I too am worried about the larksheaded shock-cord. I made continuous loops shock-cord with fleaz. Not sure how well they will stay on.

I probably will add a bit of a bread tie to each as a backup perhaps

Not to hold it to it in use - but to secure it in case it comes undone

I tie the end of my shock cord tie downs in a sliding prussic. I loop it over the stakes so that it will come off without launching the stake at me or others. Works great so far.

Another addition: wish I took a photo - but what I did last night was use one of the doors staked down in the closed position with Dutch flea - and other door - I just hooked it on just below the other Dutch flea - worked great

Great thread, thanks for all the juicy tip morsels!

My submission for the SF tarp door tie-outs: 95 cm (I'm from 'the Europe') of OD shock cord, poacher-knotted to some micro-nano-pico plastic s-biners with one of the 2 gates removed. Cut some 8 cm strips of Khaki velcro and put some slits to pass and hold the cord in place. These help keep the shock cord bundled up and neat, since I'm not a big fan of the ole 'spaghetti bolognese' tarp a la zingit (O_o)

Any feedback would be appreciated, I'm aware cord locks would be a logical addition here, but I've yet to get my hands on any here (found some online but the minimum order is like a metric ton)
