I used my snow stakes for the first time this week and realized I don't have a really good way of attaching my lines. Here's a pic of how I did it. How do you?

With that spliced eye, how about a lariat loop around the stake?
I use marlin spike hitch on my pegs. Never had one slip on me yet.
Is the spliced eye not deep enough to just turn it back over the top of the stake?
I've just been throwing a loop and overhand in the line, pulling it thru the hole, and flipping it back over top. That way you can tug up and back on the line to free the stake.
Haven't used mine in snow, but it worked fine in sand.

I made the eyes the perfect size for my groundhogs, so way too small for these stake. I thought about doing a loop through the fixed eye, but that was after setting everything up.
Larkshead the loop, then put that over the stake? Sorry if that's the same as lariat.
