Undo a locked brummel in the fixed loop of a whoopie?

I have a set of whoopies I bought from a forum member. All in all, they are perfectly usable except the fixed loop on one of them was made too small and it's a PITA to get over a toggle in a MSH. NOTE: the adjustable end has whoopie hooks.

Is there a way to undo the locked brummel so I can later redo it with a bigger fixed loop? I've tried bunching up the sleeve of the Amsteel hoping to be able to coax the burry out, but it's a real pain and not sure if it's worth the effort of if there is an easier way..?

You don't put the fixed eye over the toggle. You put the adjustable side over the toggle.

Undo a locked brummel in the fixed loop of a whoopie?

As far as undoing the locked brummel I think that's going to be a headache..... I've done some splicing and it seems once that thing buried it's for good. I've tried to undo a buried tail with no success....

I think the only solution I could offer is to attach a soft shackle or a small continuous loop to your fixed eye and use that over the toggle.

Edited the first post.. Adjustable end has whoopie hooks. Fixed end goes over the toggle.

My pre-disposition was in line with Bla@ckbird, that it won't be worth the effort. I'll probably just put these aside for times I don't use the MSH..

I think you can reverse construction steps and de-construct whoopie slings. But it might be more trouble than it's worth. You might end up taking entire whoopie sling apart to take apart locked brummels and re-do them. Although there is a method the Toss developed and is in their book that shows how to make locked brummels without access to other end. But then you still might not be able to in-do original locked brummel without taking whole sling apart. Then when you re-assemble whoopie sling it might not be neat in appearance.
If it was me I'd make or buy new whoopie slings. And if buying specify size of fixed loops.

Is there a reason for using the marlin spike hitch and whoopie hooks together? I just larks head the fixed end of my whoopie sling to the tree strap.

I've undone a locked brummel before but it's a PITA and not worth the effort, you could however larks head your whoopie at the MSH then the loop could be (momentarily) as large as you like.
    Good luck,

Since using the MSH with this set of whoopies is such a pain, and I am now using Kevlar straps which are pretty soft and easy to tie, I've been larks heading the whoopie to the straps and bypassing the toggle.

The loop is pretty small... I think the member I bought the whoopie from was larks heading them as well.

I have enough Amsteel to make another set, but I'm just going to leave them as they are. The effort isn't worth any potential gain.

I use Dutch Whoopie Hooks as they were designed; i.e. I don't use a Marlin Spike Hitch. I just larkshead the whoopie onto the strap.
