Bridge hammock NOT for camping questions

    Hello,

I am a ground sleeper with my kids in a tent. We kayak/canoe camp.

I would like a hammock to lounge in while camping and at our local park.
I have a gathered end hammock and simply don't like it. I don't like the constricted feeling etc.

Nemo Equipment was going to release a new bridge hammock this year but have delayed it until next year.
    Here is their product description:
"Camping/backyard hammock truly designed for hanging out, socializing, catching some rays or enjoying the breeze. Spreader bars and LayflatTM patterning are thoughtfully designed to provide a beach chair posture, with head slightly raised, back and legs level, so you can keep an eye on the kids or drink a beverage."

So, what I am really after is bridge hammock that functions like a 'lounger'.
From what I have seen most bridge hammocks for camping don't quite offer that position and ability to view out the sides as much as I would like.
The Warbonnet Ridge Runner has been suggested but I am not sure about it.

Bellow is a photo of it.
I am trying to find someone to make me this.
I would like it to use Dutch's Ti hardware in the corners and be hung with a Whoopie system.

I think you are looking for this. (Note, I have the ridgerunner and never have tried/seen the evrgrn hammock.) Looks like the negative reviews/rates came from people trying to sleep in the hammock which shouldn't be an issue for you.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion.
    Not what I am after.

If you have a look at the Nemo Equipment bridge hammock in the photo attached you will see it's for a single person, laying lengthwise.

I am after a bridge hammock that has been modified for a slightly upright position, with less material than a camping bridge hammock.

Only thing I can think of that is for a single person laying lengthwise in a bidge-like hammock with less material would be something like this

Have not seen much on the Nemo but it does not look like it would give you an upright sitting position...actually looks like they are trying to copy the Ridgerunner. I have a couple Ridgerunner hammocks as well as the REI Evrgrn hammock. It is made as a sitting hammock chair/couch. It's designed so much not like a hammock that it barely meets the definition of that word in my mind. It's a hanging couch....nothing else I have seen is similar.

The Netless Ridgerunner will probably work for you. It has a very open "view". However, most bridge hammocks you're either sitting bench style, or laying down. There is no in between, like with a GE hammock.

Although I question your comment that a GE hammock is "constricting". I suspect you may not be using an optimal setup (maybe stringing it up too tight?). Also, what hammock are you using?

I wouldn't touch that REI hammock with a 10ft pole...

You are right it's similar to the Ridgerunner. The Nemo looks like the pattern has 4 pieces of fabric though.

It just may be 'marketing speak' that Nemo is using in their description and in truth is basically a bridge hammock.
