How low have you guys taken a 20 TQ and 20 UQ from HG in the field. At what temps were you comfortable going down to uncomfortable.

My son has been down to 15° with a slight wind and snow and did not complain. I have also used my 20° under quilt in Low temperatures with no issues. I always keep a hand warmer on hand just in. The hand warmer can be put in the under quilt to heat up the airspace. Feels like an electric blanket for the outdoors!

Hand warmers are light weight, but will substantially lower the comfortability range of an UQ.

I always use a 10* cushion. If low temps are expected to be 30* F, I'll take my 20* quilts. If low temps are expected to be 20* F, I'll take the 0* quilts.

Up until today (just got my inc 20+1 in mail today!!) I have used a Jarbridge 3 UQ into 26* weather and was comfortable so I personally can't imagine a quality HG "down" 20+1 incubator can't do that plus more !!! SUPER excited for my hike in 2 weeks
I have my HG 20 Incubator UQ on order now...patiently awaiting delivery. While walking through Wal-Mart this afternoon, I passed by a display of hand warmers on sale and it reminded me of this thread. So I grabbed a box and will try putting some between my UQ and hammock to test how good it works. $5 for a box of 10 HotHands Body & Hand Super Warmers. XL in size as in bigger than the usual hand warmer size. They are 3.75" x 5" - popped one open tonight to see how long they last. The bag says "Each warmer up to 18 hours of heat" and I assume that is overly optimistic. It's been activated for 4 hours now and shows no sign of slowing down, so we'll see.
I hardly ever camp much below 30°, below 25° is even rarer and I would probably never camp below 20°. I'm confident that my Incubator 20 will handle my needs and for an extra cushion to allow for cold wind I've got a 2QZQ Underquilt Protector on the way. My tarp is a Superfly which I could baton down with doors closed to help against cold wind as well. I'm not going to lose a single minutes sleep worrying about my gears ability to keep me comfortable.
