Born and raised in California's capital. I've been following these threads and on Reddit too for awhile now, and I decided to finally create an account. I just started backpacking last year and really got into hammocking. I would love to meet fellow hammockers in the NorCal area.
Fun Fact: Sacramento is nicknamed "The City of the Trees". You would think I would be able to hang wherever, but in my part of town, all the trees are spread out apart.

I grew up in Chico, but I currently live just outside Nashville Tennessee. From what I recall, you are unlimited in the Sierra Nevada mountain when it comes to hanging a hammock. I highly recommend a hiking trip through the Golden Trout Wilderness down by Mount Whitney.Originally Posted by ccchans

Are you referring to that group hang posted by ccchans? Hmmm that name sounds very familiar
When I went many years ago, it was in August and up on the pass, the snow had never melted. We were at 12,600 foot elevation I believe.
