I'm new to this so I have a few questions:
1. Are we parking and then carrying our gear in?
2. Bathrooms/Showers???
3. What's a sherpa?
4. Is there a water supply or do we bring that?
Thanks!

SPECIALK
I'm in.
Pizzamimi,
This event is park and hike in. It's around a mile by the shortest route.
It's a primitive campsite. Picnic table and a fire ring. bring spade and TP.
Sherpa is a native bearer. We named Olddog's child stroller that, since he brings lots of cooking stuff like Dutch ovens. Others have followed suit. There are many variations, like rickshaws, etc.
Water from the creek. bring filtration or other treatment stuff as you prefer.
Look forward to meeting you.

Pizzamimi and 57Koop, This is a sherpa. I believe the original, named by samsara.

Version 1. Version 2 was a single pole rickshaw which lasted less than 1/2 mi. before failing and having to be pushed in to the camp. Version 3 is a double pole which has yet to be field tested. There are many other variations. Just something to carry more stuff into the woods than you would carry on a hike and hang. Check out past Sherpa hang trip reports for ideas.
Pizzamimi, as Grinder has stated this is basically a hike and hang with no facilities. Not as bad as it sounds. In years past it has been in the 90°s and we have been able to freshen up in the creek. There will be more than enough filters making water. And don't worry about being the only lady so far. C+1 and Sandykayak haven't chimed in yet. Other ladies will vouch that you couldn't be in the woods with a finer bunch of gentlemen.
Looking forward to seeing the both of you in the woods.

Up North, they have pulks. These don't work here.
In the mountains, they have Sherpa's, natives of the mountains that carry your gear. They won't come here.
Olddog has successfully combined the two to make it work for us and you too. Now we have the Florida Sherpa. A "pulk" with wheels to carry your gear thru our soft terrains.

Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
I'm planning to attend - I'll bring some stuff for an apple and pear crisp if someone will have an open dutch oven. Other than that I'm happy to bring whatever is needed.
