Swampfox… I have started modifying your spreadsheet to plan my own trip. Wow… you are an Excel wizard. Once I started playing with it I see how ingenious it is. Thanks again for posting it.

Update: I tried to contact the Director of the FTC about my membership and still heard nothing. It has been a month and a half. Disappointing! Then I decided to risk $30 and just order the guidebook and map anyway, in the hope that the ordering process is somehow more automated. Sure enough, the book and map showed up in the mail a few days later. No word about my membership though.

At least I am in business now. I was beginning to wonder if the trail had been turned into a Walmart parking lot.

Banjopicker please update if you do hear word back about membership. Was looking to join up myself but will wait to see what happens with yours first.

Ok will do. I guess the way I will find out is if a FTC newsletter or Backpacker magazine shows up in my mailbox. I'll post back when/if that happens.
