I have made my plastic liner shell and tested that, now I'm just waiting on my hypderD fabric to show up and make the outer shell. This prototype is mostly just for home and soft sandy beaches. I like the idea of making one from the material used here and maybe skip the liner. I just didn't think I could make one airtight for hours of sitting. I could be wrong.

I may have to just make yet another order.

I've logged a single night in my HEX70 XL "Louch" (Lawn-Couch) 8 Hours of 30° weather on my back deck. I was slightly cold underneath. But I slept all night. Held air all night long, although it it lost a little loft due to the colder air later at night. But it did not leak.

Awesome project! How about some how to's? I was thinking about making a long tube then putting the ends together. Stitch the inside of the ends together and down the two inside walls to close the doughnut hole. Seal all seams with seam seal and give it a rolled end. Does that make any sense?

Makes perfect sense and that's exactly what I did. However, the "butt crack" on both side is key to keeping you in it. I ended up running shock cord inside it to force that shape. Without it, your literally laying on a giant cylinder.

It seems like if you cut the top sides of the fabric in an hour glass shape (maybe both), then you would get a nice butt crack without needing any trussing. I'm trying to visualize it, might have to cut a mini model out.

Can't believe we're discussing butt cracks.

I plan to build one too. But I'm having difficulty finding the right fabric here in manila, and also type of sealant to use. Is there anyone here knows a subsitute fabric for HEX70 and Grimseal?
    Thanks
