Overnighter on the A.T.

Got out for a short trip in the north ga mountains. We left on Friday and hiked from Hog Pen gap to Whitley gap shelter. There was a lot of snow on the top of Wildcat mountain but it had melted down at the shelter. We found a great spot out past the shelter to hang our hammocks. We gathered up some firewood to get a fire going to roast some hotdogs. It got really windy up to about 11:00 pm then calmed down. Everyone had things to do today so we had to leave early this morning. It doesn't matter if its overnight or a week long, it's just great to get out. Here is some pics of our trip.

It was the most windy night I have ever camped. But it was fun.

I was foolish enough to camp on top of Springer near that shelter last summer and couldn't sleep due to the wind whipping those little trees around.
