    tongue and cheek

Yes, I realize the comments are tongue and cheek.

The truth is that about half my nights have been on the ground and half in the hammock. Sometimes the ground is better and sometimes the hammock wins. Really depends on alot of factors. I have to say, though, that staying dry is a major advantage in the hammock, both from rain and condensation.

However, the ratio of ground/hang may change now that I am about to recieve a Warbonnet Blackbird and UQ.

    Ground Sleeping CAN be comfortable!

How much did you drink before you passed out?. . . . .

how deep was the duff? did you pile it up under the tent/floor/sleeping pad?

    and for a fellowship moment:
(I was also forced to the ground this weekend- (history group camp out) took several (more then 4) pads /quilts /thremal break layers, and kept sliding off the pile every time I turned over. (whimper) not to mention the amazing 12 door van parked next site over @3a.m.; slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam, slam.....D.S al coda) arrgh!
    I'll take cougars anyday!

Glad you took the long way around!

If you just said "Hey! I'm getting me a Warbonnet Blackbird," it wouldn't be anywhere near as funny. This thread got me near tears...

    Right on!!!!!!!!!

Headed to Arches NP tomorrow for a few days sans hammock. Planning on camping up high and on exposed rocks. Nowhere near the trees. For me hammocking is like everything else, it has it's times when it is the best option and times when it's not. Just another tool.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
