All around good time. Thanks to all for helping out Samantha. She had a great time and wants to do it again (of course she does, she had all the 0 degree gear). Loved the location!

Brett, glad you showed up and enjoyed yourself. You were made to hammock!

I don't have many pics but I'll post the ones I got later. The food was fantastic! I enjoyed the day hike (be forewarned: if you get a chance to hike with OldNWay don't try to keep up) and was glad the weather stayed nice. It got down to about 20 degrees both nights but we had some nice fires before bedding down. Everyone had some condensation the second night. I'm really glad Brett showed up and OldNWay had a spare hammock for him to try out. I was really impressed with all the DIY gear I saw.

I had a great time with great people and I hope we can do it again.

did you get any pics of your set-up? I'd like to see your tarp again. Kelty Noah 12' right? That's one of many thing I've reconsidered since the hang, I was going to do DIY tarps, but I loved yours and the price was better than DIY!

There are plenty of pictures online of different ways to rig it but I'll try to get some next time I'm out. It's a large, versatile tarp and I'm glad it was my first "real" one. Yes, it's heavy but for $50 (and good reviews) I'll deal with it.

Glad you all had a good time. I'm bummed I didn't make it but not much you can do when your back is acting up. Hopefully there will be repeats. I finally found my hand held GPS too and was looking forward to learning how to use it.
I also may try to set up a small get together. I hang quite a bit in Zoar Valley but will need to get permission from my friends that own the land. WNY, CNY and WPA we need more organised group hangs!

Yep, no excuse with the ANF and it's ample camping area and trails. I'm hoping to get back out in March sometime, South East corner (Ridgway) is usually my "area of operations"

I may try to get a hang organized at Letchworth this summer. We could start at the Portageville side to make it closer for the PA people.

Keep me posted on this. My only concern is that if you look at the official camp sites on-line many of the sites aren't exactly loaded with trees so site selection is key and should probably be made as far ahead of time as possible.

I'm talking about the east side of Letchworth, where the FLT branch trail is, not the state park campgrounds. There are two lean-tos that you're supposed to reserve and stay at. One is about 6-7 miles from the north end of the trail, the other is about the same distance from the south end. Water is an issue but if a trip happens I'll go beforehand and cache water.

[Edit: And I stay at the campgrounds twice a year, there are plenty of trees. ]
