I'm planning on doing an overnight trip in a couple of weeks and worried about being too cold. I know each person is different in terms of how warm they stay but I just need some general feedback on what I'm planning and if you think that will work.
Right now overnight lows are expecting to be in the teens. I'm bringing my warbonnet Ridge runner bridge hammock with 0 degree HG UQ , 0 degree HG TQ as well as putting a Gossamer Gear 1/4 inch Thinlight Pad in between the UQ and the hammock. I'll also have polar fleece underwear, JRB Down Hood, Black Rock Down Hat, face mask, and goofy but dependable AHE Flamethrower socks. I'm also doing the hot nalgene water bottle trick. Do I need to add a sleeping bag pod system and/or order a spindrift sock for the hammock? Is there anything I'm missing? Last thing I want to be used miserably cold.
This will be my first true cold weather hammock trip. Thanks all!
