    sleeping bag to UQ question

    I have a down sleeping bag, probably 3 season ++ rating. I was wondering if i cut it down to, Mmm 2/3 size and took some rip stop nylon and sewed it to one side , the hammock side , would that reduce or eliminate the compression???
