Many tarps and tents come with no seam sealing - some don't even bother to tell you this fact. You should be seam sealing your own tarps every once in a while anyway so I see no reason to let that keep you from buying a tarp from a specific vendor.

Seam sealing isn't that difficult. It's a skill you'll need to develop at some point anyhow, since it has to be re-applied periodically. Don't let that hold you back from making a good purchase decision.

I can see for some thats a consideration in making a purchase.

No big deal for me. Takes all of 5 minutes to do and then some drying time.

Up until the past couple of year where seam taping has become more popular, there were almost no manufactures of any shelter that shipped them out sealed. I have a $400 tent that did not come seam sealed, used to have a $600 4 season mountaineering tent that did not come seam sealed, have bought a number of tarps, (groundling gear) and none of them were ever seam sealed. There are several tarp options from other folks here that seam sealing is included in the cost of the tarp. But by in large most gear dose not come sealed, Scott is making a great product and I would not think twice about buying one of his tarps over sealing, he is offering top quality at a vary fair price. And I bet if you asked nice he would seal a tarp for you for a reasonable fee.

Scott has been very easy to work with and has answered all my questions and concerns. Great doing business with people who care about the customer. The same goes for whoopie slings also.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the support you and all of HF has shown since the start of Backwoods Daydreamer Gear. This is by far the best community to be working for and with!
