Hello from Canada, eh

Greetings from Kingston, Canada. I'm relatively new to backcountry camping and even newer to hammock camping but got the bug after a bikepacking trip this past September in which I was able to spend three days waking up to a sunrise while swinging in the breeze, and taking lazy afternoon naps by the lakeside. My goals for 2016 include making a DIY (sil?)nylon hex tarp and PLUQ, and getting my kids to try spending a night in their own hammocks. There certainly is a wealth of information on this forum that I expect will help me continue my journey. I am looking forward to learning a lot and hopefully some day being able to share my own knowledge and experience with others.

Enjoy that madness. but also enjoy the solitude.. My 3.5 year old granddaughter has her own hammock, underquilt and sleeping bag and cannot get enough of it. When i tell her i am thinking of a hammock trip she asks if she is invited. Of course you are. .... and those Americans will never understand the benefits of mile in a bag/ so many uses for the bag afterward.. Dry feet.. LOL
