Another newbie here, that's a great idea! Since it seems that I am always working or have obligations, I might just pack up for a afternoon hike and siesta this Sunday. Sounds like fun.

Good thinking. I spend a lot of time waiting for the perfect opportunity to get away. And then I realized I just need to make opportunities when I can.

I'm really hoping to beef up my outdoorsman skills to a level where I can take my 2 kids out to play in the woods without sweating the small stuff. Some trying to soak up as much experience as I can.

A word of caution hardware cloth may contain lead. NEVER use it to cook on it could contaminate your food with lead. Even heating it can with a pan on top can release lead into the air around you. I know because I made that mistake for grilling veggies on my grill. Luckily a friend was over right after i made it and stopped me from using it. (old farmers are a wealth of knowledge) You can get stainless steel hardware cloth from many sources like Granger or even the local hardware store.

That's a huge tip! I want to do some more research on my cloth, but your comment is enough for me to retire that pot stand until I can come up with something better. Thanks!

Hahah, thanks mate. Sorry, I have not worked for comcast in over 15 years. Plus I was a Video editor/ producer for their local entertainment channel. Not an installer.

Ha, good call! I've worked a couple of gigs in the past that were not Comcast friendly, so I've done similar by using black gaff tape over the logo. :-)
