But doesn't the Gallery home page specifically state Hammock related photos are encouraged but please refrain from using the gallery for storing your personal photos. ?

I figured huge amounts of pictures ... even if hammock related would bog down your server if everyone in the group stored their hammock shots there. Might be wrong ... I have been before!

I didn't realize we were talking about non-hammock related photos? HF hangouts are hammock related, it seems...

We are ... I just took that statement a bit further than it was intended. I've purposely haven't loaded anymore than necessary to not hog the server. I tend to take a lot of photos. But hey ... ya got the space ... we should use it! Sounds good to me!

thanks alot AS. now I have to spend a day uploading pics to the gallery...

On the OP's question, Angrysparrow taught me, and go "Advanced" works best I've found. Click the little paperclip and allow the browser to do its thing. I usually have to allow and then click the attachments/paperclip again after I allow. Then browse your pictures and open them to the browser, and keep doing that till you've loaded all your pics or folder is full. I think it holds six?

If you dont "allow" nothing will work, obviously, I had that problem at first. I'm so used to closing and blocking add-ons, I never realized I was doing it.

Once you have your photos uploaded, which can take a few seconds, go back to your post and click the paperclip, (it should bring up your photos, image #XXX), put the cursor where you want the photo. click on the image and it will magically appear, when you look at the preveiw. In your post it will look like this..[image 2909].

Like JW said always preview post, and make sure everything is working and looking right.

I don't think I added any thing special but maybe a different angle/explanation can help. Possibly get together with some one else in person to walk you thru it...one caveman to another neanderthal gargoyle out.

Here is how I do it...

First go to Manage attachments, click on it (it is below the reply form window).

A pop up appears to let you browse your computer for the image

Find your image and double click it to get it to load

You can browse and load up to 10 images in one post, once all the images you want are loaded click on upload to get them on the HF servers

after they are uploaded they will appear above the Manage Attachments tab

Hover over the link and right click, then click on 'copy link location', this copies the link to your clipboard (you don't see this).

After you copy the link, click on the insert image icon in the post reply bar

Once the pop up for the insert image appears paste the link you just copied into the window (I use Ctrl+V to paste), then click OK

The code in the window will look like this

Preview the post to make certain you have it all right, and then hit submit.

This is the best I can do without being there in person!

That works to, but since you've already put them in your attachments, you dont need to enter the url also. Seems like an added step or double information to me. LYOI (load your own image).

    Nice examples tho hogn8r.

Then how do you get them to show up full size in the text of the post, not just as thumbnail attachments?

Is this how you do it?

    Flooded Hammock.jpg

On Edit Gargoyle: I used the paperclip upload and it just shows the thumbnail that is clickable to the full size image, Am I missing a step?

instead of using the paperclip upload, use the insert image. It will be full size
