    Injecting grosgrain edging what foot?

So I have been making an under quilt and have added grosgrain edging. What a PITA! I used 1.5" and it was all over the place. Looked good from the top, but when turned over the bottom was way off. I have been researching binding feet, adjustable binding feet etc. Some have plastic, look simple and only cost a few bucks. Some are all metal and just a few bucks more. Then we have the high dollar rigs. What are you using? I know my machine and what style foot I need, no problem there. Pics are good!!

    Thanks,

I just pre fold mine so it has a crease in it. Made it pretty easy to line up on the edge as I went.

Using a cloth and iron helps to make a crease which as mentioned will help line things up better. I've had good luck with the plastic one you have pictured but it can be a pain to use sometimes. If you aren't too fussed about perfect lines, folding and creasing the grosgrain might be your easiest option.

I've used the 2nd one with some success. you'll still need to handle it a bit to keep everything in line but ti does help.

The first one does a double fold, and isn't what you want. It wont accept 1" tape either.

The plain tape attachment papa smurf shows works very well, IF your machine has threaded holes for attachment screws.

    Thanks for the assistance folks.
I was looking for that plain tape attachment, but just couldn't find what I was looking for. I don't have attachment points on my machine but I am invisioning a solution involving tape.

Here's a post a while back where someone made a Diy attachment using clear plastic and tape. It seemed to do a good job judging by the pictures.

I use pins... Did you not pin it before you started sewing?

Well no that would have taken extra time. I should have but it looked good from the top. That's what I love about DIY, always learning something,. Sure I can order something online, but then I wont learn a darn thing.

Use the plastic one, no pinning was needed. Don't go too fast and all works well.
