Been following the thread. I am riding across the state of NC earlier that month. I am trying to convince squirrel girl we should come to this as well. Really really want to!

I am interested in this event as a new hammocker, but I am interested in the lows at night this time of year at the location. I looked on weather underground and the low at night seems pretty low. Anyone here using just a pad, or does everyone have under quilts? I do not have a quilt yet and do not know if I would have one by then.
Kale Kale,
Last year it got down to 32° F. - a bit colder than usual, so it was good to have an underquilt. I have a quilt I can let you try out. Also, I'm working on something I call "The People's Bridge Hammock" - so named because it's designed to be comfortable even when used with pad, hence making it more affordable for the volks just starting out. The will be a PBH in as a prize in the raffle. Watch the weather and check in here as the date gets closer. Hope to see you at Watoga.
Thanks! I will keep my eyes out closer to the time of the hang and hopefully be able to make it, and have an under quilt by then. Thanks for the info. Coming from Maryland, that would be a nice little trip. Would be nice to get a hike and some group hang time in!
The dates for this are perfect, nice and warm all day and cold at night, perfect camping weather.
Kale Kale, just let us know if you are coming. I certainly have extra quilts that I could let you borrow, so don't let that stop you from joining us.
It was cold last year, but we had a great time.
Looking forward to cooler times. Dave,I'll bring the maul.

Thanks, Hickery. We might need a fire. I've got a trail you might like, too - the Kennison Run Trail. It's the only one in the park I haven't hiked yet. On the map it looks we could make it part of a nice hiking loop with the South Burnside Trail ... if we connect them with a steep bushwhack.
I'm all about a bushwack ! Hope we have to tunnel thru some rodo .
