    Foam Pad stuff bag

Storing my foam pads is a pain, and when you roll them up and tie them, they tend t split over time.
So to keep them in better shape, and easier to carry and store, I made a storage/pack bag. (and the camo covers up that dang blue pad also......)

Nice camo Randy, and yep, the blue is kinda ugly, and covering the pad would help with uv rays and bumps and tears and dirt. good idea. Is it hard to fit the pad in?

When I cut the material, I rolled the pad up, the size I wanted, then patterned the stuff bag to that size, To put the bag in,,, it is rolled up tight, and it slides right in the bag, after it is in the bag It unrolls abit and fits tight in the bag.

I found the material at Hancocks last night on the way home, It is that digital camo nylon, with a black coating in the inside..

On a side note, this was the second time I sewed a round piece of material on a bag to make a flat bottom, I wanted to practice before I make Alan's bag for his Hammock.

Is that coating WP? I found out on the Sipsey trip recently, to my surprise, that WM blue CCF is NOT waterproof. I had a blue pad strapped on top of the MMP, and we hiked through an hour or two of (mostly light) rain. While setting up camp under the tarp under the now pouring rain, I realized that part of the pad had absorbed a fair amount of water. I don't know if other pads might be more water resistant. So a sack might be a good idea for trail use, in addition to storage.

Nice sack! Love the digital camo.

BB58: Is that the flat 20" blue pad, or the egg crate pad?

The pad in the pic is a GI surplus pad,,,,

I have the blue "egg crate pad from Walmart and it won't fit in this bag, The other Walmart flat "BLUE" pad will fit in this bag also.

    How does UV affect them?
