do you mean Mule Tape? some people are using it in the half-inch or wider, for tree straps for their hammocks.

Mule tape? I'm guessing that's what you're asking about?
Most mule tape isn't wide enough to use as a tree strap (usually between 3/8 and 3/4in). You may be able to use it for the hammock suspension, as its usually quite strong. Not sure how it might work with buckles or other hardware, but it should be just fine to tie (with a knot) to a tree strap, and has quite high breaking strengths (1600-2500lbs IIRC).
So useful yes, perhaps not especially "valuable" for trading/selling as its psuedo common.
Usefull for the building of bridge hammocks, side suspention.
While some vendors have been offering it most folks feel that you should use at least 1" wide material to go around the tree. This protects the growth layers (cabrium) and also is felt to be a show of good standards to land owners and managers that get to regulate our use of the trees. Do what you can to put all of our best foots forwards so that we don't have more places ban the use of hammocks due to poor stewardship.

I dont use it as a tree strap because of the aforementioned comments. I do use it quite a bit for hammock suspensions. Very good for that.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.
It's my goto suspension. I larkshead it to my hammock gathered end, and then tie it with a Slipper Beckett Hitch to my tree straps. No hardware needed.
Mule tape is great for no-hardware suspension, and is actually pretty cheap.
Slowly swaying in a hammock is my version of a steady morphine drip, without the risk of renal failure.
Same here for suspension. I have a two 4 foot tree huggers with a six foot length of mule tape and just use a Slippery Beckett Hitch to the 15" amsteel continuous loops on either end of my gathered end hammock.
