As far as 'not going to do'... If it sagged too much and I put my tree straps somewhere around 5.5-5.75 ft level and it only slipped (because of no milking) for 1 ft before Whoopies got nice and tout, that's me touching the ground . When I put my hammock higher than my height - I woke 1 ft above the ground, so they don't slide down all the way, just some fixed distance half-foot to a foot.

This past weekend, my son used his hammock for the first time. The straps were ENO Slap Straps. He said the hammock slid down the tree and he had to get out and adjust a couple of times each night. He said the tree had smooth bark. I've been hanging for years and never had a strap "fall". Any thoughts on this???

    Thanks so much!

ENO slap straps are nylon. They stretch. Lots of threads here about how bad they are for hammock suspension.....most ENO gear is meant for day lounger not hammock camping.

Ahhhhhh..... Thank you!!! So, if I wanted a simple set up like that for my son, what straps would you use?
