Right...... welcome with open arms the new guy that will revolutionize the industry. See post #139 for just one example of the wealth of hammocking knowledge possessed by the "new guy".
I hope he does well with this project, as he has with his sleeping bags(IIRC that's the business he had) I see no reason we all have to respond in only the positive way you and others think we should. EVERY opinion counts!!
Goobie, you crack me up. "Revolutionize the industry". Got a good chuckle out of that one!
Some people (such as myself) have to go through a learning curve, be educated, seek answers to questions we didn't even know we had. I appreciate your criticism, it keeps me sharp.
So, I didn't sulk away with my tail between my legs. I did, however, set this project aside and let it stew for a while. I have a new design, one that in virtual testing finally failed at ~2100#. Not bad. I have one more revision that I hope will bring it up to 2500#, which would give it a very good safety margin.
I have some housekeeping to take care of before I post any more. But, when I do, it will be to this thread.
I hate to rain on your patade but this has been done before.

I use SK75 or SK78 3mm dynema for suspension rope abd my own stainless knotless devices to hang on.
Most important think is to round and smooth off all corners because the will wear out any cordage/straps.
