If they were the same price I wouldn't be able to decide which I like best, but at the huge price difference I like the frosted ones best! I use all four at once, tying them in a bunch with a bit of leftover zing it. Together like that, they throw out a lot of light. Then when we all go our separate ways to our hammocks for the night, everyone just pulls one lantern from the bunch. They are so airy light and easy to hang from your hammock ridge line and collapse to pack down thin and light the next morning. Clip it to the outside of your backpack and it will be fully recharged again by dusk!

We use these. Not ultra bright but plenty for us. Cheap and tiny and ultra light

i learned about this the other day and tried it out with silicone cupcake liner (link). it works surprisingly well for lighting up an entire campground when using a Thurnite TN4A or other high output flashlight. unfortunately it's not ideal for ridgeline purposes, but just wanted to pass along that this can work if you don't mind improvising.

Wasn't sure if you meant a lantern like the Luci, etc., or these things...

Looks like he's out of the white ones, though. I don't know why you'd get multi-color unless someone is bringing the chips and salsa!

i did a little research into those inflatable ones. Sunlight Brand is apparently the original and they sold licensing rights to Mpowerd to make the luci light. so basically if you go to the sunlight web page you're buying 3 luci lights for the price of 1. which is awesome and i wish i had known a few months back. lol http://sunlightlantern.com/
i have a luci and a luminaid. i like the luminaid one better though. about the same light but it packs a lot smaller. both are great lights though.

I have been very pleased with a tent light made by Snow Peak. I got it at REI. It requires 3 AAA batteries, and that makes it a bit heavy. It is an LED light, very bright, but it dims if you need. It has a nifty magnetic hanger that works well in a tent or over a ridgeline inside a hammock. I use it for reading in the hammock.

Headlamp is useful for everything. I hang it from my ridge line also.

I use a splashfash. Uses a AAA battery, and not much bigger. Frosted top, but still ok as afashlight for close up.
