Has anybody hammocked in Hearthstone Point campgrounds at Lake George NY? If you have do you know any particular sites or areas that have good trees?

Sorry, can't help with site selection because I haven't been there.
However, the reasons why I avoided this location may/may not be helpful.

Thanks for doing some research for me. :-) I used to be a regular to Hearthstone back when I was going up to Lake George for Americade every year (motorcycle camping). 2008 was my last time staying there and I stopped riding my motorcycle for about 6 years. I'm back at it now and some of us are heading up to Americade to motorcycle camp. The sites will be overrun with bikers and peace and quiet will obviously not be something we will have. Although the park will quiet down, the road will not with bikers and their drag pipes. Some interesting commentary about rude rangers and disorganization. I can't let that stop me because it's a huge campground with lots of trees, and i hope to hang this time. Unless I find someone with some good info, i'll be taking a w/e ride up there to check it out first hand. I don't even know for sure that hammocks are allowed in the park and this early in the year, they're not answering the phone.

My family vacationed at Lake George quite a bit when I was a kid. Don't remember the names or places, I was a tyke.
As long as you know what you are getting into as far as noise and other folks red flag comments you should be good.
I find "campsitephotos dot com" helpful for choosing specific campsites at various campgrounds. They don't have pics of every campground in the country, but luckily they do have pics for Hearthstone. Hope this helps your site selection.
