A 64 oz. growler of beer if I'm with friends.
I come up here at least once a month for some solitude and to get away from the family. It's a 3 mile, hike-in only, all uphill fireroad, to get to the campground. There's always plenty of chopped firewood so no need to bring a stove. I usually bring a bottle of wine along with my steak dinner. I do caveman steak......put steak directly on the embers, foiled vegis and potatoes thrown in the stove too. There's no water there so I also haul about 1/2 gal of water. Also a couple of movies on my Ipad for late night entertainment.
Place is usually very dry so I rarely bring a tarp and rarely gets down below 40, even in the winter here.
This last time I was there (when photo was taken) there were a couple of bikepacker-hammockers there. I might just load up my mountain bike next time I come up here.
I use every hike as a training opportunity...so all my gear, with food adjusted for the day.
I take the essentials, alcohol stove and tea or coffee, and my hammock in case a hanging opportunity presents itself. Food varies with length of hike/stay.
Like many of you, my base gear pretty much stays the same. I will bring some whiskey or heavier foods on short hikes and I do enjoy solo over nighters where I spend more time in camp. On those occasions I like to read or even watch a movie on my iPhone. I'll also pack a bit more/heavier insulation if it's a short hike.
