My brother who is 3 yrs younger then i has always loved the outdoors and for some strange reason has always looked up to me,whatever i get into he is right there.
One major difference between us is i have to have all the newest and greatest stuff whereas he is extremely hardcore "been a roofer for 25yrs" and still sleeps on the ground without tent or pad,drinks straight out of the streams and hikes in work boots.

Well to my surprise his wife calls and said she is relying on me for all his Christmas gifts and has given me a liberal budget.
Off to REI friday for a down bag and hammock and other newest and greatest stuff.

Great post.......can't beat hanging with your brother.

Better be careful you might spoil him! Please put some some Aqua Mira or a purifier on that list; once you have giardia it's forever; yea, I drank from streams too.

As much as we fought when we were younger, I really enjoy his company so much more now. Brothers make the best of friends.

Great stuff on all this brotherly love posting. I am especially excited that my little brother (5 inches taller, but 14 years younger so still "little") is now interested in camping and taking his boys (6 & 4) out.

The nephews like the hammock but they plan on tenting a while. Conversion to tree dwelling will come when the time is right.

We have a camp out planned the weekend before Christmas.

I really liked the comment about the real social networking wasn't done on an Xbox. It's amazing how we lose the things that can matter most when we don't follow the example of our forebearers.
