so i have the dangerbird 72 which has the overcover and the bug net hides away, i have used the over cover once and i never tuck away the bugnet so the darien fit my needs and camping style better. dont get me wrong those are great features i just havent really used them as much as i thought i would. so i went with a simpler bugnet attached style then added a couple of pockets and a peak shelf and underquilt hooks giving me everything i wanted and nothing i didnt need.

I've been eyeing the sparrow. You have the option of net, cover, or nothing, so I was wondering why people pick the attached net with no option of going topless. But if you're going to have the net on all the time then the Darien makes a lot of sense. I'd like to hear how you like it compared to your dangerbird.

These options figured heavily with my choice. I went with the DangerBird because there's times when I would want the entire bugnet out of the way but always within easy reach and never taken off and left home as you could a Sparrow. Plus the DangerBird gives the option of extra zippers on both sides to easily adjust the underblanket whereas the Darien only has a zipper on one side.

Just got home after a 4 day Buffalo River Trail hike and tried out my new Darien for the first time. Wanted a hammock that was light weight without sacrificing too much creature comfort. The Darien looks well-made and the 11 foot length is really comfortable. The people hiking with me were similarly impressed. Could have opted for a lighter weight hammock, but the Darien hit the sweet spot for me.
