The tulle I just got from JoAnn's. We really don't have no see ums too bad here in Utah, so I decided that we'd be ok to go the tulle route. Can't beat the colors. She helped me pick my color--lime green. I haven't made it yet though.

Nice job! Did you happen to weigh this yet? Tulle is not the easiest to work with but it's much lighter and less bulky than noseeum netting.

I refuse to sew tulle. Never again. I just can't get good lines with it.

You're a good dude for making that, IMO.

I love it, not sure if you are a he or a she, whichever, your daughter is going to remember her hot pink screen forever.

I remember when my daughter was in hot pink mode, carpet, wallpaper, drapes and bedding all hot pink, almost needed sun glasses to walk into her room. Now she is into the black stage, not so much fun and not as easy to pick out of a crowd.

Congratulations on being a really cool parent!

    nice job! looks great!

organza works great and is much tougher and much easier to sew than tulle. it also comes in a wide variety of colors and even different textures. the only problem is that it is heavier. it also is a smaller mesh so not as easy to see through or get a good breeze through. i used organza to make some gear lofts and ridge line organizers. if the tulle gets torn up, you might consider re-doing it in organza.

Thanks everyone! I haven't had a chance to weigh it, but I'll do that the next time I have it out and post it. Thanks for the tip on the organza. I've been putting off doing my (lime green) bug net, because it sucked to work with.

Just found out that I am expecting my 2nd child (due in November). Looks like I'll be sewing some more, potentially awesome colored, hammock gear in the future.

Its finally starting to get to decent temps here in Utah. Can't wait to get out camping. I want to get some fun hangs in (low to the ground of course) before I get too big to be comfortable laying on my back.

A little late to the party, but I like that net. How big did you make the "bigger" hole to pull it back? I'd love to whip up something like this for my DIY hammock.... in a manly color, of course
