Nebo Ridge Trail, Hoosier National Forest

    Hello All,

I was hoping somebody here has hiked / biked this trail and knows of some good places to hammock camp off of it? We're planning on heading there soon and will be entering from the north entrance. Any information will be appreciated!

There are a million places. I would suggest going all the way up Browning hill.

Yep tons of great places on Nebo. Browning hill is pretty cool, as is the hollow bellow it. Like the Deams Wilderness to west, a better question would be where are there not good spots to hang.

I have not biked Nebo, but everytime I hiked or hung there I ran into bicycles, even in the winter.

Yep no problem. You've made it to Nebo and you're searching is done. Get to Browning Hill, take a look around. The view is very good. Stay on a trail, or pick out something that looks good to you and start hiking that way.

Yes, bikes are allowed on Browning Hill, but not in Brown Hollow

I always see bikes on Nebo Ridge Trail and Combs road. I've never come across a mountain bike on the path to Browning hill. While I've rarely seen horses on the trail, I've seen plenty of evidence that they have been there lol.

Thanks for all the great information so far. Does anybody know if there are places I can refill my water bladder along Nebo Ridge?

There was a small stagnant and tannin heavy pond roughly halfway, but that is about it on the trail itself; you can drop down in to several of the cuts and there is usually running water, at least this time of year. The "official" forest service map shows several of the potential streams, but they are very weather dependent. However some of the more scenic area of Nebo Ridge are down in those cuts.
