Depends a lot on where in the PNW you are planning to hang. Having made a few thousand suspensions for folks over the last 7 years I get to see what goes out all over the world. We send the longest straps to folks on OR and WA. Here in Idaho most places a 6-8 foot set of straps is good. Unless your getting into some of the ponderosa forests then 12 foot is probably better. In some areas of OR and WA 12 is on the small side and we have gone as big as 20 foot for each side...but if you hunt around 12-15 straps should be more than enough to work most places. But of corse there are areas with smaller trees as well. Better to have enough and not need than to be to short and have to Macgyver something that will not be sufficient at protecting the trees from damage.
