I actually came across the GT version and thought oh s&*t that's it! I got it and the "tabs" you attached the included ridgeline to ripped out the first time I put it up. Those and the netting was indeed really flimsy so I sent it straight back. I liked the spreader bar option but primarily being a backpacker opted out on my version for weight reasons. It was also much taller than I wanted but I knew that going in. Strangely though the floor was good, probably the same 30D mine is made out of.

I just reread that while looking at the picture - very cool! At first I thought it was a stand alone item for the dog, but realized that wasn't the case.

    That is SWEET!

And I totally agree with Ratdog's suggestions.

When it's chilly I often let my 65 lb sharp clawed shepherd into my WBBB XLC with me. She's a very polite foot warmer. I've been known to let the 100 pound crazy shepherd (dull clawed) in with the sane shepherd and me when it's bitterly cold and savagely windy, but he's NOT a fun hammock buddy. Bottom line, though, is that my double layer camo WBBB XLC is no worse for the wear. It has never caused any problems.

For the crazy, ADHD, 100 pound shepherd, I usually tie paracord tightly between the two trees my hammock is hung from, about six inches from the ground and then loop his leash over that makeshift trolley line. That way he can run up and down the full length of the line and go anywhere under my hammock and tarp without getting tangled or pulling up my stakes.

For me i just use my homemade 1.9 ripstop hammock and if it gets messed up ill make another. My 60# dog does not like to sleep on the ground camping or at home. Took a few training sessions to get her hammock savvy but through it all the hammock hasn't dropped us. Ill make a double layer someday for that extra protection. Glad I'm not the only one.
