I have decided to build a .6oz/sy cuben tarp. I am thinking 9x12 for the extra room. I tried an 8x10 pitched in a diamond but it was a bit to small for my taste.
With a 9x12, I figure its large enough, I should be able to pitch it square and close the ends for storm mode, or open it up for more room. On the ground it would make a huge Forrester or it could be pitched into a fairly tall pyramid.
Should weigh about 9-10 oz.
Any input would be appreciated.

I had made myself a 9x11 a while back. One thing I'd like to mention is the width. I made mine 9' because I'm only 5' tall and I always hang my hammock really low. BUT, even so, the tarp sides don't go all the way to the ground, even when I have it pitched pretty close to my hammock.
If you're wanting to make something for winter type coverage, you may want to try for a 10' width. If you don't mind having that open space along the side bottom edges, then 9' is great!
I love having a longer length tarp than I used to have. It really gives great coverage, whether hammocking or on the ground!
