I was born in TX and raised in Alabama. However, hot and humid is hot and humid no matter where you are. I know I've had some nights where I tossed my TQ aside and slept fine without it. I've never actually vented my UQ because I've only experienced temps in the mid-70s for overnight lows, but some people might appreciate venting or hanging without an UQ.

I bring a small portable fan with variable speed... one that can hook onto the ridgeline. It makes the sticky nights somewhat tolerable... otherwise, I'll avoid the summer-time hangs, especially in Florida.
Vent your UQ and if using a bugnet, that it allows good air flow. I made a fronky style bugnet last year- and while it kept the skeeters at bay- it did not allow much air movement and was hot. This summer I'll make a fronky out of noseum or nano-noseum, not sure which yet. Also hanging your tarp higher and tied out higher will let the air reach you better.
baby powder helps with humidity. toss it on right before jumping in the hammock and powder the hammock too.

I try to setup the opposite of what I do in the winter. Find as breezy a site as possible, porch the tarp into the wind to catch as much of that breeze as possible, UQ is hung alongside the hammock to be pulled under when needed. I'm looking into a fan to be hung from the RL, certainly can't hurt.
net style hammock would help, but I don't know of any decent ones
Above 70, ditch the UQ or pad. Just sleep directly in the hammock. I usually just use a sheet (over 75 or so) or a fleece blanket (under 75). A battery powered fan is useful, especially since you usually need a bugnet in warmer conditions.

Thankfully, I've never used baby powder much. Johnson & Johnson just lost a court case that included $10 million in compensatory damages and $62 million in punitive damages over their baby powder, and whether it causes ovarian cancer. I don't have any ovaries, but I'm still staying away from the stuff!
