    New hanger from Louisiana

What a great forum, I have been trolling as a guest for a little while and finally decided to pull the trigger on a Clark TX270 with 1/8" amsteel whoopies with whoopie hooks, Dutch clips, 7' tree huggers, and 1/8" amsteel continuous loops...hoping the gear is as legit as the reviews led me to believe.

This is my first hammock and figure buy once cry once. Anyway thanks from Louisiana!

I am prying the built in net will work, Mosquitoes in my area are likely to carry you away if they want a snack to go!. I keep hearing about Permethrin. Any info on the stuff or proper mixing?

I haven't used it hammock camping, but I'm a big believer in a thermacell - maybe worth a purchase.

Welcome to the addiction but as far as addictions go this one isn't a bad one. I see you have found Dutch. If you haven't Arcady found Shug's videos I would suggest looking form them.

Yeah this isn't too bad, I do a LOT with firearms so this is a little cheaper thank God. I did happen to run across Shugs videos on accident before I found the forum. Hes seems legit and has tons of info.

You can order it from Amazon in several varieties. I found it at Academy Sporting Goods in a pump bottle, brand name Sawyer. I am trying it next weekend at Sipsey. Got the pump bottle for simplicity.

I was looking into permethrin but the thermacell seems to be a simple solution, no mixing or dipping....think ill talk my buddy into getting the permethrin so I can see if it ruins his hammock and clothes while I try out the safe thermacell lol. Thanks for the info on it.

No problem, I'd just set it up under the hammock I think and let the run while I slept. maybe like under your butt or mid-section area. . .
