lookingfor a good quality light weight bug net for the AT.

A friend of mine and i are planning to thruhike the AT in a few years, and I am trying to get together some good hammock gear for us. We plan on doing it in the Late Spring/Early Summer to avoid any snow as we get up north, but we will have to deal with bugs. Can anyone suggest a good lightweight bug net that might be able to survive a 4 month straight hiking trip? Price right now is not an issue.

I just got the Hug Half Bug Net the one Sqidmark listed above. I think it is only 3 ounce and packs down really small. It can be set up over or under your hammocks structural ridgeline. It's easy to use just doesn't cover your legs.

Only 3? The main reason I didn't buy one was because the web site said they weighed 5 ounces. That's the same as my Fronkey. I figured if they both weigh the same then I'll take the one with full protection.

I just weighed it again to check. I have a cheap crappy Walmart kitchen scale so it's possible it's off a bit but it still says about 3 oz. You might want to contact Arrowhead equipment to check with them by phone or email. The website could be wrong. Hopefully someone on the forum will have this bug net and weigh theirs to compare.
