    Michigan Newb

    'ello,

Another Michigander reporting for duty after a couple months of lurking. Finally getting off the ground this summer to do some hiking/kayak fishing.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the information the community has provided here, as well as the compiled list of cottage vendors. Saving loads of time and money learning from everyone's experiences, and am looking forward to discovering what life is like hanging from a couple of trees.

Welcome from the hills of northern Oakland County. Lots of us hangin' Trolls here. What side of the bridge are you from? Come out to a group hang sometime!

Welcome, from the West side of MI, near Grand Rapids.

I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

I'm in Warren currently, but grew up in Fair Haven, MI and Leonard, MI. Definitely down for a group hang, and trying to plan out some hiking/fishing trips in Michigan, albeit seems more challenging than i thought to find that kind of thing in Michigan.

That's an impressive drive! Those awesome lakes always be getting in the way! I've still never crossed the border into Wisconsin, even though i've come close through the Upper Peninsula.

I've lived in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. Many similarities. You've GOT to come to Wisconsin though. The glaciers left some beautiful views that only the UP of Michigan can compete with.
