    Two hammocks for two children

    Hello from Slovakia

I know they will want to occupy mine and I will end up on the ground again. So I am seriously considering hammocks for my children who have always been on the ground in the bivy bags. For summer and warm time only for now, I found the hennessy cub zip for children for 60USD each including everything needed.
But anyway, I would like to ask you dear parents, is there cheaper/better option for now? I dont sew and not willing to. What is the easiest combination? I understand much depends on tree constelation. if there can be hung two hammocks on one pair if trees or not. But lets count there are not, and every hammock needs own tarp. Right?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

    Marek

I had my son in a HH Cub from age 5 to about 9 and he finally got too long for it. I used a Big Agnes bag and pad in the hammock for him and he never got cold. The only hard part was he could not quite get in and out of it by himself so when he had to go in the middle of the night I had to help him....but that was it.

I personally don't see much point in child-sized hammocks that they'll outgrow. I'd get them regular-sized hammocks.

The point is, that it takes some 5 years for them to outgrow. Everyone buys new hammock after that time anyway. Till then, I can use smaller tarp for them.

I would suggest something like the Grand Trunk Ultralight hammock. They can be found online for something like $13-$15USD. They're long enough for them to grow into for sometime. The biggest issue I've seen with them is the weight rating - but I wouldn't see that as an issue with kids.

The warbonnett traveler is just $65 with suspension. I think that has to be about the cheapest option. I would go full size as well, it's what my kids have and they love them. Ours are DIY
