New member new gear from Athens, AL

    Hello all,

Great to be on here, lots of resources and nice folks! I just received my WBBB xlc and SF the other day. Unfortunately I came down with a stomach bug and haven't been able to try it out, still running 100.2 temp.... Hoping to kick this mess and get it setup this weekend!

I ordered some dutchware stingers, tarp worms, mitten hooks, shock cord, and dutch clips. Also got a spool of red zing-it. Any advice for a new hanger?

    God Bless!

    Hey Adam,
Welcome to Hammock Forums. Appears you are off to a great start with gear.
What insulation will you be using? Pics of the new set up is a plus too.
    Hope you heal up quickly.

Be patient on the comfort quest.
First and foremost get a good hang with the hammock first.
I did a How-to Series that may give some insight....https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ials-For-Noobs
Keep it kinda simple at first.

Welcome from Florida. I grew up south of you in B'ham. You are in a beautiful area of the state!
I hope you get well soon. Mtn hanger is right. Not being able to get out and enjoy new gear is a bummer.
You will find loads of info in the forums. Many, many different opinions on gear. That's why we say HOH. Hike your own hike and hang your own hang.
This is an addicting hobby. Most of us try different suspension, hammocks, insulation and tarps until we find what fits us best. Enjoy the forums and hears hoping you can get out there soon.

Welcome. Since it seems money is no object(haha), skip over trying to save money by using pad, reflectix, etc. Go straight to down uq and tq. SOOOOO much more comfotable and warm. I went through all the "alternatives" and finally bit the bullet. Wish I would have done it sooner. Now...take a shot of Jack...and hit the trail! You may not be well, but you wont really care.

Welcome from Huntsville. Get well soon so you can enjoy. I've just completed my gear so I can now start hanging with all the guys in the area. Check out some of the threads on the Sipsey Wilderness hangs as they look fun and the Sipsey has a lot to see.

Shame to get new gear and a stomach bug at the same time!

Still, just be patient and appreciate the learning curve!
