Jones Springs area near Townsend isn't too far of a walk in if camping on the lake. Kickapoo Valley Reserve in Lafarge/Rockton area might work, I sent them an email to find out our options. Chequamegon-Nicolet NF allows dispersed camping in many areas, I'm looking into that as well. If we want to hike, the IAT up North allows dispersed camping also. With a bit of preplanning that could work.
