Today's my birthday, and I heard through the grapevine (my 4-year-old let the secret out) that I was going to get a hammock birthday cake. The intent was to make a Ponderosa Pine forest (we live in Flagstaff, right?), but the cake wouldn't hold, so it turned into a Goblin Valley hang (after an unseasonal snow fall).
The hammock appears to be a DIY end-gathered style, with what looks like Whoopie Slings and a top quilt. I'm just glad to see the occupant has a smiling face
The cake was delicious, and I got a kick out of the idea. My wife's not professional cake designer, but it was the thought that counts, right?
